Intuitively correct: leg direction

The foot should be as close to the crank as possible. The PC2 pedal axle is designed to allow the feet to be positioned to the crank as close as possible which improves the power transmission.

It also decreases the likelihood of joint problems by reducing the strain placed on leg structure throughout the pedal motion. The Inner-Stop helps with orientation and positioning. It also prevents the shoe scuffing the crank arm.

A biomechanically preferable leg motion is enabled by the angle of the pedal platform which angles the foot and aligns the joints as illustrated. We refer to this as the Varus angle. It is optimal for the knee to neither move outside of or inside of this line, but to move up and down along it.
